Well to say that and not say what hardware you are running is not cool. You're hardware must barely (if at all) meeting minimum specs and/or are running the resolution too high.
If you can, get a Core 2 and an 8800GT. Get the Q6600, E8400, or the new 45nm Quads, you can not go wrong. You'll obviously need a new motherboard. P35 chipset motherboards (I have a Foxconn Mars) are the best overclockers (you just can't do SLI only Crossfire). Just check for CPU compatibility, some require bios updates.
(I have an E8400 running at 3.6GHz UT3 really flows now on my 8800GT)
An 8800 GT 512 rocks most any game (the GTS as well).
Core 2 is sadly wiping AMD off the performance gaming map. (I used to play on a FX60 939)
We need competition between CPU makers, but man its like night and day between AMD and Intel right now.

There is an assault mod in the works I believe.
I think we need more color in maps than more meshes.
The HOLP map pack Rocks! The maps in it really give you that UT99 feel/flow :)
