Well to say that and not say what hardware you are running is not cool. You're hardware must barely (if at all) meeting minimum specs and/or are running the resolution too high.
If you can, get a Core 2 and an 8800GT. Get the Q6600, E8400, or the new 45nm Quads, you can not go wrong. You'll obviously need a new motherboard. P35 chipset motherboards (I have a Foxconn Mars) are the best overclockers (you just can't do SLI only Crossfire). Just check for CPU compatibility, some require bios updates.
(I have an E8400 running at 3.6GHz UT3 really flows now on my 8800GT)
An 8800 GT 512 rocks most any game (the GTS as well).
Core 2 is sadly wiping AMD off the performance gaming map. (I used to play on a FX60 939)
We need competition between CPU makers, but man its like night and day between AMD and Intel right now.

UT IS ABOUT GAME PLAY AND MOR GAME PLAY!!! i bought this game to have fun... but i find my self playing 2004 again somehow... there is some thing about 2004 that had me go back again and again.... could be the incredable wall hopping, could be the crazy load of maps... could be that mod community that was still pumping out mods... BTW, I REALLY satisfied with the grenade add on on the rocket launcher!!! thankyou EPIC!!!!! i hope you upgrade UT3 like how you upgrade UT2003 to UT2004.... maybe like... UT3and 2/1 or something... youknow... get assult... shut the stupid cliff haning storyline that no one likes, and bring back "the tournament" 2004's intro was fantastic!, and i kinda like 2003's intro too... kinda like WWF or something... yeh keep up the good work! halo is UT's bitch!!! don't give in to Microsoft! stay independent, you have OUR suport!!! I LOVE UT! i loved ut99, i loved ut2k4 and i love ut3! but ut3 seems uncomplete.. i mean. at ut2k4 you could chose whitch bot is on red and blue, you can change your flag, and you had more chars. i mean the customisation is godlike, but i think there are not enough parts and chars / faces / races.
i love the desighn of the vehicles and the desighn of the weapons whitch are taken from unreal championship 2 (for example the shokrifle, the flagcannon and the rocket launcher. the movable turrets are an awsome idea. but i think that there are not enough maps at the start too. arctic stronghold is now downloadable, and other remakes are to come frostebite (snakebite) for example, but the guys are right.. assault is missing... especially because the effects you can create are awsome (think about the bridge at tank crossing) and such (and even more) effects at assault... this would kick ass^^
